It just goes to show that if you stick at something long enough the rewards will come to you. With that in mind Rachel Stamp seem to be cashing it in. The queue that greets me outside the Tunbridge Wells Forum is about a mile long and you just know who they have come to see. In fact, if I hadn't got my ticket in advance you would probably not be reading this right now.
Inside it is packed with the standard multicoloured hair, glam rock, cross dressing, punk rock fan club of Rachel Stamp followers. But before the mighty Stamp takes to the stage we have a fine gathering of support acts. First up is Fur Circus who fit in perfectly with the audience expectations. Fur Circus have that rare gift in a band of actually being able to write good songs and perform them with conviction. Their set is made up of a classic selection of glam punk rock hits. I did feel a bit sorry for the singer as he seemed to be dwarfed by his surrounding band members.

Fur Circus rev up the crowd.
Next on was Grand Theft Auto. This lot, I felt, seemed to be a little out of place at a Rachel Stamp gig. Their music was a blend of Stone Roses with a Kula Shaker vibe. In fact the lead singer seemed to look like a spitting image of Mr Mills of said Kula Shaker fame. The music was pretty good but I couldn't help but feel that I had heard it all before from the mid 90's indie band boom. The songs were well put together and performed well though. I guess that I would have been more impressed with them if I had seen them at their own gig.
Grand Theft Auto take it up a level.
Finally Rachel Stamp take to the stage under the theme of the Terminator. By now the crowd are well excited and ready to take it all in. The first one out is Will, the guitarist, who has had a mega hairdo and now looks like Sonic the Hedge Hog with a striking bleach effect. Lead singer David comes out with his usual green hair and matching green spangly-clingon body suit which is dripping of sweat by the end of the evening. Drummer Robin looks like a psychedelic glam rock jail breaker and keyboardist Shaheena, as always is looking her usual super sexy self.
Yes David, you are the holy Jesus!!!!

It was not surprising to hear a whole batch of new songs so I am positive in thinking that there might be a new album on the way? The new stuff is very much typical Rachel Stamp, though it was a shame that they did not play everybody's favourite: I've Got The Worm and Je Suis Maisee. Oh well they can't play everything I suppose.
Rachel Stamp just seem to get better and better and are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact one excited young man shows his appreciation by stage diving into David and breaking his very expensive new base. Oh dear, that's rock and roll for you.
